The ship becomes the ninth in the Silversea fleet, designed to showcase the cruise line’s signature sleek design, bespoke Italian craftsmanship and unparalleled levels of service. The 596-passenger ship – the largest in the fleet and its new flagship – offers the highest number of large suites in the fleet and also the most interconnecting suites for families and groups.

Eight upscale eateries are found aboard the vessel, including the Relais & Châteaux-partnered La Dame and Silversea’s perennial passenger favourite, Hot Rocks. Two pan-Asian restaurants and a jazz club-cum-supper club also feature.

In the cruise line’s own words, Silver Muse “redefines the ultra-luxury ocean travel experience, while maintaining the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodations which are hallmarks of the Silversea experiences.”

Calling at 34 countries and 130 ports in 2017 alone, Silver Muse will merge small-ship intimacy with the spacious all-suite accommodations that are the hallmarks of the Silversea experience.

CEO of Silversea, Roberto Martinoli, said: “The attention to detail throughout the ship is a reflection of our dedication, in conjunction with Fincantieri, to offer the ultimate luxury experience at sea.”

Bolsover Cruise Club’s Director, Julie Straw, and Sales Consultant, Lauren Straw, were lucky enough to be invited to join Silversea on the two-night taster cruise of a ship designed to “redefine the ultra-luxury ocean travel experience”. An invitation to join Silversea on a two-night taster cruise aboard Silver Muse was an opportunity we really couldn’t afford to miss!!

As soon as we stepped on board the ambience of pure luxury hit us.  We were escorted from the reception desk to our cabin by a crew member and met by our butler, who kindly introduced himself, brought us a drink and gave us an overview of the amenities within our fantastic Silver Suite.  It was breathtakingly beautiful, spacious, with a huge bathroom, separate bedroom from the lounge area and a very large balcony with lovely reclined sun loungers.  We were in awe of the décor, design and furnishings throughout the whole ship, from the most luxurious bed linen we had ever seen, to the stunning glass and chinaware in the restaurants and bars.

With limited time available to us, we tried to dine in a variety of the venues to get a feel for what was available to passengers and thoroughly enjoyed every meal.  On our first evening we ate in Indochine, which offered a variety of Asian flavours in small portions, meaning we had room left for dessert! During the daytime we enjoyed a salad by the pool and visited the buffet area, which offered a vast variety of mainly Italian foods, served from a huge salad bar, cold meat counter and a pasta station.  We dined on our final evening by the pool at a venue called Hot Rocks.  Here we cooked our choice of meat or seafood on hot rocks, enjoying the sunset and wrapped up in blankets as the temperature dropped.

During our time on board we were given an escorted tour of the ship; this enabled us to see the passenger areas.  It soon became clear, despite being a small ship, Silver Muse offers a great range of facilities.  We viewed the different grades of accommodation and even the starting category of Veranda stateroom was possibly the most elegant cabin we have seen, after our Silver Suite of course!

We found the crew on board Silver Muse simply couldn’t do enough for you.  From the bartender remembering our favourite drink in the bar, (from the previous evening!) to the waiting staff insisting on carrying our plates from the buffet to our table, the service was second to none – fantastic!!

This trip really did give us a taste of the luxury Silversea offers.  Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Chairman of Silversea, stated “she is quite simply the most beautiful ship ever to have graced the oceans” and he has certainly delivered on his promise.
